Founders

Alison Metcalfe and Gemma Bell founded LOHA in 2023.

Alison has spent 30+years working with families and supporting parents to help their children manage their mental health. As Professor of Health Care Research at King's College London, Alison undertook research and co-designed interventions with families to help them communicate difficult conversations and manage distressing emotions, which have had far-reaching impact and informed clinical practice, policy and research Globally.

Co-Founder Gemma Bell, is a successful Health Tech AI entrepreneur working with Alison to digitise the interventions and make them immediately accessible in families own homes.

Gemma says, 'LOHA provide a unique approach that is evidence-based, sustainable and highly accessible for all. It was life changing for me, as a parent, to understand that we can help our children if we are given the therapeutic tools to do so and LOHA is commencing at a time when the power of a more relational approach to therapy is increasingly being recognised'.
